Welcome to Wally Love! This completely remodeled home sits directly on stunning Double Bay Beach, a 2-mile-long pink-sand beach with only 20 houses along the full length of it. Double Bay Beach has a barrier reef offshore to keep the surf down and to give the water that prized turquoise Caribbean color.

Enter Wally Love into our spectacular open-concept great room with large sliding glass doors providing views of the ocean from every possible position—kitchen, dining area, and living area. Step out any door onto our beachfront patio, furnished for both dining and lounging. Walk down new stairs to shaded beachfront seating, just steps from the ocean. Walk back to the house past our outdoor shower to wash off the sand from the beach..

Wally Love has four bedrooms. Each bedroom room has a king size bed. All four rooms have sliding glass doors leading to outside. The two bedrooms on the front of the house share the front deck, or porch that has seating for four or more people. The two bedrooms that open to the ocean also have their own en-suite bathrooms with walk-in showers. The third bathroom is shared by the other two bedrooms and the great room. It has a shower-tub combination.

Amenities at Wally Love include super-fast Starlink internet, AC throughout, outdoor shower, sea kayaks, partial home backup generator, and two electric bikes.

There is a new grocery store called Mid Way just 5 minutes away, which has the basics. The town of Governors Harbour, 15 minutes by car from the property, has grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, two banks with ATMs, a bakery, gift shops, a dive shop, and a medical clinic. It has a nice little collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking a picturesque harbor. The town of Palmetto Point, less than 10 minutes from the house, has several smaller stores and a good restaurant.

Upscale restaurants in the area include Tippy’s (international and fusion), The Buccaneer (Bahamian cuisine with Caribbean-Chinese fusion), La Bougainvillea (international cuisine), 1648 Restaurant (Bahamian cuisine inspired by European influences), Pascal’s at Sky Beach Club (International cuisine with Bahamian influences), and Bacchus Fine Foods (gourmet restaurant and food store). The above all have live music one or more nights a week, so there is live entertainment somewhere nearby almost every night. The Governors Harbour area also has numerous little takeouts and restaurants offering local cuisine, including Da Perk (coffee shop and sandwiches), Mate and Jenny’s (pizza and Bahamian), and the Sunset Inn (local cuisine). The new and excellent restaurant Fishbone Grill is now open, just a short drive.

Very nice house and a great location. House had really nice views both from patio and inside. House felt brand new and had a clean modern design. It was very well equipped. I have rented quite a few houses and it really felt like a first home and not a 2nd. Double bay is a a beautiful expansive beach with very few people on it.
Home caretaker team deserve a special mention. We lost power for about a day (due to a local transformer malfunction) and there were some technical challenges to getting portable generator hookup to work. After a couple of attempts on my part they came over (at 9:00pm) and figured out how to make it work. Also kept in touch with local authority to keep us up to date on when power would be restored. Note that running water relies on an electric pump at house and it would have been a real problem if we hadnt been able to get the generator on from time to time. So a big thanks to the whole team.

The electric bikes provided a nice break during evening for me and my children riding around a bit on banks road.

Wow! We had originally booked a different property down the beach, but secondary to delayed pool construction, we were left without a property only a week before we were set to arrive. The rental company reached out to this owner who graciously agreed to allow us to rent his beautifully renovated home. We were originally disappointed our initial plans had fallen through, but the moment we stepped through the front door with the sweet and thoughtful Ms. Carol, we realized we had really lucked out!

The view of the coral pods just off the private beach was breathtaking from the expansive porch. Snorkeling was amazing just off the beach, and we went nearly everyday. There were 3 kayaks (we only used 2), which was a must for my teenagers, along with a surfboard. The house was so comfortable for my crew of 6. All 4 bedrooms had king-sized beds, and the 2 master bedrooms on either end of the house both had breathtaking views of the ocean. All bedrooms opened out onto a deck.

We will visit the Bahamas again, and there is no question where we will stay next time. I cannot thank this owner enough for opening up his beautiful paradise home to my family to make our Bahamas getaway everything we hoped it would be! Thank you!!!

This house was spacious and comfortable. But, the best thing about this house was the location. Right on a beautiful Double Bay beach facing the Atlantic. A quiet and secluded neighborhood close to Governors Harbor.
